Mr. Wong's Chicken & Rice

BUSINESS TYPE: FAST-CASUAL RESTAURANT

location: DALLAS, TEXAS

SERVICES RENDERED: Brand + Website duo

Mr. Wong’s is a Dallas, Texas-based chicken franchise that rebranded in 2019. I executed a website redesign to accompany their playful new brand identity. The new Wong’s website, equipped with an interactive online menu and store locator, was designed to to comply with ADA Accessibility Standards.

The Challenge

The Mr. Wong's team was particularly concerned about accessibility and ADA compliance—a growing priority in the restaurant industry—to ensure their site could be accessed by screen readers for viewers with disabilities. I utilized a series of online tools and resources and collaborated with an Web Accessibility Consultant to ensure important guidelines and requirements were met.

BRAND PATTERN

My Approach

Aside from adhering to ADA guidelines to ensure an inclusive experience for all visitors and minimize legal risk, it was important to create a website that reflected the brand, menu, and dining experience that loyal customers had come to love. Using Mr. Wong's existing brand identity, I incorporated bold blocks of color and unique rollover effects to keep the site engaging, friendly, and fun.
